Nolan North

Nolan North, born in New Haven, Connecticut, is a renowned American actor and voice actor celebrated for his significant contributions to the video game industry, often regarded as its de facto leading man. He rose to fame for voicing iconic characters such as Desmond Miles in the Assassin's Creed series and Nathan Drake in the Uncharted series.

After studying journalism at the University of North Carolina on a baseball scholarship, North briefly worked as a reporter in New Jersey. He then shifted gears to pursue stand-up comedy and acting in New York City, before making the move to Hollywood. There, he landed the role of Dr. Chris Ramsey in the General Hospital spin-off, Port Charles, from 1997 to 2003, during which time he married Jill Murray, a co-star from the show, and welcomed two children.

North's career took a pivotal turn towards voice acting post-Port Charles, leading to his groundbreaking role as Nathan Drake in Uncharted: Drake's Fortune in 2007, a character he continued to embody in subsequent series installments. His portrayal required extensive motion capture work, likened by North to "theatre in Spandex" due to its imaginative and prop-minimal nature.

His voice acting repertoire extends beyond these roles to include the Prince in Prince of Persia, The Penguin in Batman: Arkham City, and various characters in games like Final Fantasy XII, Lord of the Rings: War in the North, Call of Duty series, and Dota 2, among others. In animation, North has voiced characters such as Cyclops in Wolverine and the X-Men and Raphael in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Notably, North's work as Nathan Drake caught the attention of J.J. Abrams, leading to a role in Star Trek into Darkness. His career is distinguished by a versatility that spans video games, animation, and live-action performances, making him a pivotal figure in the entertainment industry.
